Operator Preparation and Review Classes

Preparation Classes: These 16-week online courses teach the fundamentals required for a career and degree in water technologies, and to prepare students for the ADEQ Operator Exams.  Classes are offered year-round.  Please check the schedule for a list of current classes.

ADEQ Operator Certification Testing

At this time, all testing state-wide is being administered through the ADEQ Water Quality Division in Phoenix, AZ.  Please contact Bill Reed at (602) 771-4638 for more information.

Out-of-State Certifications

Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) will recognize certifications obtained from other states or jurisdictions. To receive reciprocity, you must:

  • Demonstrate that you passed an examination that is substantially equivalent to those administered by ADEQ approved testers,
  • Complete the Arizona Request for Operator Certification Reciprocity and
  • Submit written evidence that you meet the experience and education requirements of A.A.C R18-5-112.
